For two weeks in October, the students from La Vall experienced a unique international adventure at The Agnes Irwin School, a prestigious all-girls school in Philadelphia, as part of our International Exchange Program.
The stay began with a very special day: their host sisters gave them a guided tour of the campus, showing them the classrooms, common areas, and different aspects of American school life. Later, the Head of School welcomed them warmly with an informal conversation that marked the beginning of an unforgettable experience.

What did they do during their stay?
Throughout their stay, our students actively participated in Spanish classes. They gave a presentation that included different aspects of our culture—landmarks, cuisine, traditions—and facilitated oral practice of the language by helping several students prepare for their oral exams.
In addition, they were part of the jury in a fun ‘pan con tomate’ contest, organised as part of Hispanic Heritage Month, where they were able to share and celebrate the culture of different Spanish-speaking countries with the entire school community.
Outside the classroom, they enjoyed various activities with their host sisters: an afternoon of bowling, the elegant Fall Ball, and a trip to Philadelphia, where they visited iconic landmarks such as Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the Rocky Steps, Belmont Plateau, and the lively Reading Terminal Market.
It was an enriching experience, full of learning, friendship, and culture.
